As I have loved you (CE61)

    Preparing for the coming WW3

The love of our Lord Jesus during Good Friday and His resurrection

In both the OT (Lev 19:18) and NT (Mat 22:39 CV), God commanded us to love your neighbour as yourself. After the last supper our Lord Jesus gave us a new commandment 'to love one another as He had loved us'.
John 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."

How much did Jesus loved us?

1. Prayed till He sweated blood
Luke 22:43-44 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Our Lord prayed in unbearable pains and agony* until He sweated blood to destroy the curse on the ground so that Christians can depend on Him as their Provider.
Gen 3:17b,19  "Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life... In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return."

2. The thorns drew blood
Mat 27:29-30 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
The thorns drew blood from His head to destroy the curse on the ground so that we can rejoice at disappointments (thorns and thistles) for God is our Deliverer.
Gen 3:18 "Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field."

3. He was scourged
John 19:1 So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him.
Our Lord Jesus was scourged for the healing of our bodies and souls.
1Pet 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness -- by whose stripes you were healed.

4. He was crucified
Gal 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),
Jesus was crucified on the tree to redeem us from the curse of the law.

5. Poured out blood after death
John 19:33-34 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
Only those who have committed unforgivable abominations poured out blood after dead (Jezebel), so the blood of our Lord Jesus can cleanse all sins.

6. He died
Heb 2:14-15 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
Jesus died and having destroy the power of death, He has set Christians free from the fear of death.

7. He resurrected
1Cor 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
On the third day Jesus rose from the death. Having made us sinless by His precious blood, He set His Holy Spirit within us to seal and protect us.

Brethren, can we love one another as our Lord Jesus had loved us.
